Argentina helicopter crash: Sylvain Wiltord escapes reality show accident which killed three French sports stars
British pensioner arrested in Spain after police find decomposing body of his missing partner
Charlie Bevill-Warcup was held last night over the death of Rosemary Broadwell, who had been missing from her Spanish village for six months
A British pensioner has been arrested in Spain after police found the decomposing body of his partner six months after she went missing.
Rosemary Broadwell, 76, vanished on September 15 from the mountain village of Algorfa near Alicante on the south-eastern holiday coast.
Her partner Charlie Bevill-Warcup, 75, reported her missing after saying he had left her using a cashpoint near the home they shared..
Detectives from the paramilitary Civil Guard at Algorfa arrested him last night after he allegedly confessed to killing his partner.
Reports said that he had told the officers, who had been investigating the Rosemary's disappearance, that he had beaten her with a blunt instrument.
Early today he took the detectives to an area of open ground where her badly decomposed body was found, they said.
Later an autopsy confirmed that Rosemary had been beaten to death.
Rosemary went missing after being given a lift into the centre of Cuidad Quesada at around 11am on September 15, an appeal by her family said.
Standing at just 4ft 8in, she was described as a "fit, well and able-bodied lady" with perfectly manicured fingernails and a tattoo of a lizard on her foot.
She often drove her white Renault Twingo with gold flash stripes on each side round the Cuidad Quesada area of Algorfa.
Rosemary also walked her two Shih Tzus Mollie and Benji and her Bichon/Maltese Terrier Alfie.
Her daughter Cheryl Webster has been in regular contact with Spanish police.
Katie Hopkins says Danny Dyer’s fiancée will live in fear he’ll cheat just like Katie Price is with Kieran
The motormouth has gone on a rant again about Danny Dyer's fiancée Joanne
At start of the month Katie Hopkins couldn’t resist laying into Danny Dyer following the news his girlfriend Joanne Mas had proposed to him.
She claimed he had been emasculated, he called her a “daft sexist” and things got a little out of control.
But like a dog with a bone Katie isn’t quite ready to drop the topic and has dedicated her latest Now column to it.
ITV![Here we go again... Coleen Nolan confronts Katie Hopkins about abusive tweets to sister Linda.](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_u-HoxNFho2eJG2dM8eImZDU3ymbiewYnTvG0eOfmSN39lbqm046WOMg372lCg6nOZ_o0NrwZYt5WTGnr-6tGHyN60857_1lD-5Njj8Fb00_T3JZ2jfZq3yjYqtR712m89qm99SwbXQBSA2OW104nakx8GiZNdS=s0-d)
And she’s even managed to tie in her other favourite topic – Katie Price, claiming Joanne will live in fear of Danny cheating just like Katie does with Kieran.
The motormouth wrote: “I think Joanne’s crazy. Taking back a man after he’s cheated on you like letting a grizzly bear into your bed. It will always tear your heart to pieces in the end. When you take back a cheater; you accept a constant nagging doubt; where is he, who is he with and when will he come home smelling of someone else?
“I imagine Pricey has the same fear with Kieran . He probably has to take the children with him whenever he leave the house, just to prove he isn’t going to meet another woman.”

Blimey, she also compared made a rather unflattering comparison between Joannne and a grovelling child – seriously.
When describing how she thinks a proposal should be, she wrote: “I don’t imagine it involved getting down on all fours, grovelling like a hungry child and begging the bloke you’ve known for a couple of decades to take pity on you and the three kids you’ve given him and finally tied the knot.”
Over to you Danny…
Yup the Twitter favourite has already taken to Twitter to hit out at Katie and her latest comments.

He tweeted a picture of her family and wrote: “So Wilfred is off again..now this is what a Disney channel family would like if we lived in hell..which ones Harold.?”
The actor added: “Your love for publicity is almost as ugly as you @KTHopkins I knew you wore a syrup...time to put Steptoe down #filth.”
And things got even worse when he posted a picture of her in her underwear, which he captioned: “Last one.....as I'm in a jolly good mood.....imagine if a tampon was to have a face......@KTHopkins happy Tuesday. ;)”
Nice.
Antony Costa: My baby's eyes rolled back - we feared she was dying
Blue star Antony Costa and his fiancee Rosanna Jasmin could do little more than watch on helplessly as their eight-month-old daughter Savannah suffered a dramatic fit last week. Here Antony, 33, describes the trauma he and Rosanna, 29, went through...
Savannah is our world. Our princess. Like any parents we’re always worried. But last week we really thought we might lose her.
My fiancee Rosanna and I had gone to an open evening at the hotel where we are planning to get married. We had Savannah with us, and although she had been suffering from a bit of a cold, she had seemed fine.
We were really excited about being in Cambridgeshire to look at the venue. We’ve been planning it for ages, so it was a big day for us.
Rosanna was holding Savannah and we were tasting the wedding cakes that were on display.
Then suddenly Rosanna noticed Savannah’s head had tilted and her eyes were rolling back. In a second, she started shaking and going stiff in Rosanna’s arms. Then her lips turned blue.
We didn’t know what was happening. We really thought she was dying.
There we were on the dance floor of the place where we were going to get married – where we’ll have our first dance together as a married couple – and we were looking at our daughter in agony, not knowing what was going on.
Rosanna started screaming and crying and shouting for help. She dropped to her knees.
I was in total shock, and ran to get someone to call an ambulance.
Meanwhile Rosanna’s maternal instinct kicked in. She put her coat on the dance floor and laid Savannah on top of it.
Luckily, we had been to the Tesco Mum of the Year awards a few days earlier and had watched an incredible film where a mum had resuscitated her baby.
Rosanna remembered some of the stuff we had seen – and laid Savannah on her side and tilted her head. If she hadn’t, she could have choked. Then we stripped her down as she was so hot.
It was awful seeing our baby like that. We felt helpless. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. We really thought we were losing her. Rosanna was begging Savannah to stay with us.
The fit must have lasted for 10 minutes but it seemed like an eternity.
Then we realised we didn’t know what to do next.
Rosanna was going to do mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on her but then a woman came rushing towards us, and it turned out she was a doctor. She told us not to do mouth-to-mouth because Savannah was still breathing.
It sounds obvious now, but when you’re there in the moment it’s very different.
That woman was amazing. She kept reassuring us Savannah was okay while we
waited for the paramedics. Finally they arrived and took her into the ambulance. By this point Savannah was drowsy and sleepy – she was exhausted.
It was horrible seeing her like that – normally she’s so peaceful when she sleeps, but her breathing was heavy and we were so worried.
They took us straight to hospital and what was probably a 20-minute journey seemed like an hour. We felt helpless, but the hospital staff were all lovely. They took Savannah from us and all we could do was look on in hope.
Her lips were still blue and at this point we still had no idea what was wrong.
Finally, doctors told us Savannah had a virus which had made her temperature shoot up, and had thrown her into a fit called a febrile convulsion.
They couldn’t tell us if it would happen to Savannah again. But they said it can happen to anyone – children can suffer from them up to the age of five.
We were lucky. We knew a little, but if the doctor hadn’t been there I don’t know what we would have done.
We are definitely going to go on a baby first aid course now. We don’t ever want to be in that position again.
When you have a baby, you are taught how to feed it, how to change a nappy and things like that, but they don’t teach you what to do in an emergency like this.
The staff at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge were amazing and we salute all the midwives and nurses out there.
I wanted to talk about this because I think every parent should go on a first aid course, so everyone knows what to do if they are faced with an emergency. Rosanna was the real hero. But it is the worst thing as a parent thinking you are going to lose your baby and being so helpless.
We had read a little about febrile convulsions before this happened, but you don’t really appreciate how scary they can be until it happens to your child.
It is absolutely horrendous.
Luckily Savannah is on the mend, but we now carry a thermometer with us all the time so we can keep an eye on her temperature.
She’s now back home and Rosanna cannot take her eyes off her.
We are still finding it hard not to check on her every five minutes when she is asleep.
But if there’s one good thing that comes of this it’s that, by sharing our story, we can encourage other parents to be aware of what they need to do if it ever happens to their child.
The first dance at our wedding is going to be very emotional as we stand on the same spot where we thought we were going to lose our beautiful baby.
Zac Efron and his super hot girlfriend Sami Miro take a hike in matching leggings
The pair were spotted wearing matching white tops and gym leggings
The couple were spotted going for a hike (the favoured exercise of LA) with a pet pooch.
The 27-year-old has been dating Sami for several months and they are clearly besotted with each other, as they're even dressing the same.
Zac wore bright red compression leggings under his grey shorts for the walk in Griffith Park, along with black socks and trainers.
The actor also sported a white T-shirt, and a baseball cap and sunglasses.
Miro, who has degrees in fashion and business, wore a cropped top and black workout leggings for the hike.

Danny Dyer doesn't look fazed as he attends TRIC Awards after comparing Katie Hopkins to a tampon
The star didn't let any insults get to him as he looked every inch the LAD at the annual awards bash
The actor gave a big thumbs up to camera as he entered Grosvenor House on Park Lane, where this year's Television and Radio Industries Club Awards are being held.
Despite Trading insults with Katie Hopkins for most of the morning over Twitter, the EastEnders hardman didn't look like he had a care in the world as he smiled for snappers.
PA![Alright geez](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_tlVFyoCXBP0hVbnhAO9BpCawNwiWttCaiBQrfOoh_2dEg064H0VoHg-2Y4IJBB7qpR3ZRumbs3WYOcbT2bD81XTr8nzgLpwq9HeKoiz_X5A7nWvTQ0rcP-wMLx456UXravoDbi0NWm5G-Gk_NRDDINfID1JCt_ITEOtR3lUV-kB0YFoWg30nN-YARosqbhvAoEF4i1AZa5hA2iHoulbf_A=s0-d)
Other celebrities in attendance included Lorna Fitzgerald, Kristina Rhianoff and Keith Lemon.
Danny's appearance at the bash comes after he compared Katie Hopkins to a, uh, tampon.
After posting a couple of other insults he tweeted a picture of the motormouth in her underwear and captioned it: “Last one.....as I'm in a jolly good mood.....imagine if a tampon was to have a face......@KTHopkins happy Tuesday. ;)”
The somewhat gruesome comparison followed her column in Now magazine in which she claimed Joanne will live in fear of Danny cheating just like Katie Pricedoes with husband Kieran Hayler.
In response Danny posted a picture of her with her children and wrote: “So Wilfred is off again..now this is what a Disney channel family would like if we lived in hell..which ones Harold.?”
Danny has nicknamed her Wilfred following their last public row when he compared her to Wilfred Bramble, who played the scruffy father in Steptoe And Son.
The actor didn't stop there though and added today: “Your love for publicity is almost as ugly as you @KTHopkins I knew you wore a syrup...time to put Steptoe down #filth.”
Scary snap shows two teens stranded on tiny iceberg in the middle of Lake Michigan
The two boys were left floating 40 yards from shore after the piece of ice they were standing on broke free
The boys, aged 17 and 18, from Wisconsin, got caught on Lake Michigan after the floating chunk of ice began to give way.
In the video clip, the teenagers can be seen balancing on the thin piece of snow approximately 40 yards from shore.
Emergency service teams from the Racine Fire Department were called and rescue divers jumped in the freezing lake to pull the block of ice back to land.
Battalion Chief Willie Hargrove told TMJ 4 News: "Hopefully the learned a lesson. Not the smartest thing to put yourself in that position."
Chief Hargrove explained that the two boys were able to walk to safety after divers had pulled their block of ice into shallow waters.
Thankfully, despite being a little cold, the teenagers managed to escape without injury.
Police officer threatens to confiscate 4-year-old girl's bike - because she was riding on pavement
Busted: A police officer threatened to confiscate a 4-year-old's bike
A four-year-old girl cycling to school was left in tears when a police officer threatened to confiscate her bike - because she was riding on the pavement.
Little Sophie Lindley had a helmet on and was riding her 16-inch purple bicycle with stabilisers by the side of a busy main road when a patrol car pulled up.
Her dad Dale, 34, was shocked when the officer threatened to seize the bike if Sophie continued riding it along the path.
Shockingly, the officer even sat in the patrol car and watched Dale struggle with the bike and a sobbing Sophie as he walked a mile up a steep hill to her school.
Ex-serviceman Dale said: "I was gobsmacked when the officer pulled over and threatened to confiscate Sophie's bike.
"He said to me 'She can't be riding on a pavement, it's breaking the law.'
"At first I thought he was joking but he looked deadly serious. I said 'You must be kidding. What do you want me to do, make her ride on the busy road? It's rush hour.'
"He just shrugged and said 'Look, she must get off the bike and walk and I'm going to sit here and make sure you don't put her back on it. If you do, I'll confiscate the bike.'
"I ended up carrying Sophie, who was in floods of tears, in one hand, the bike in the other and walked up the hill to school.
"By the time I got her into class she was so upset a teacher had to calm her down.
"Poor thing thought she was going to be put in jail. I'm absolutely outraged that a policeman can act in this way.
"The path was totally empty and we walk along it every day. Sophie likes to cycle on her bike. She's got a little saddle on the back which she puts her dolly in.
"We always make sure she wears a helmet and I put a lead on the bike which I hold to make sure she doesn't shoot off.
"We try and cycle to school whenever it's a nice day, it's good exercise for Sophie and she loves it.
"We don't have a car, and it's almost two miles to the school. She can't walk that with her little legs, which is why she's always had the bike.
"Sophie was gutted. Surely the police have better things to do than pick on parents taking their kids to school."
The pair were pulled over as they made their way from their home in Grantham, Lincs., to The West Grantham Academy in the town on March 2.
Dale's partner and Sophie's mum Emma Stephenson, 33, added: "When Dale came home and told me what had happened I couldn't believe it.
"How on earth is my daughter riding her little bike with stabilisers to school a criminal offence? Surely there needs to be some common sense applied."
The couple, who have three other children, Liam, 12, 18-month-old John, and five-and-a-half-month-old Rose, called the police to complain.
Full-time mum Emma added: "One police officer I spoke to said the law applied to everyone - no-one can ride a bike on the pavement.
"But another said it shouldn't have happened, as it's different with children.
"You can't expect a four-year-old to ride in the road, it's not exactly safe. And she has the lead and wears a helmet."
Lincolnshire Police have not yet identified any police officer involved, but said they are investigating.
A force spokesman said: "Safety is our priority and cycling on the pavement is illegal.
"However, common sense obviously prevails and in the case of young children, officers would use their discretion and offer the most appropriate advice for the circumstances."
Mum relives moment son was fatally stabbed by man who boasted: 'I pierced him four times bro'
A mother has spoken of her pain after her son was fatally stabbed in the heart by a man who moments later boasted: “I pierced him four times bro”.
Speaking for the first time since her son Jamie was knifed four times as he walked home from a friend’s birthday party, Dawn Gray, 49, has opened her heart in a bid to deter young people from carrying knives.
Her son was 19 and just 5ft 4ins tall with a “baby face” when he was knifed in the street by Daniel Parr who subsequently “bragged” to his friends about what he had done.
After attacking Jamie, Parr texted his pal the sickening message: “I pierced him four times bro.”
As Jamie lay in the street dying, he went round to a woman’s house and showed her the blood-stained knife he had used to kill Jamie.
While in custody having been arrested for Jamie’s murder, he sent her the threatening message: “Snitches get stitches”.
“It was brazen,” Mrs Gray, of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, said in her first full interview since her son was killed in 2011. “He’s evil.”
She told how her son, a trainee bricklayer, was stabbed four times in his legs and chest in Sheffield in 2011.
He was walking home, having been out celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday.
“The knife blade had pierced his breastbone and plunged into his heart,” she said. “Then he was left to die in the street.
“A passer-by phoned 999 but it was already too late. Mum had to identify Jamie’s body. I couldn’t bear to do it.
“I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to hurt Jamie. He was so gentle.”
She told how a few hours after Jamie was murdered she started receiving messages – all naming Parr as the perpetrator.
“They said Jamie left the pub early,” she recalled. “They told me he’d been attacked as he walked home alone.
“And they were all naming the same man as my son’s killer.”
Mrs Gray, who is no longer with Jamie’s father, David, said she had never heard of Parr.
“But I couldn’t believe it when I heard he’d been bragging about slaughtering my son,” she said. “I vowed I’d get that monster off the street.
“I had so many questions about what happened to Jamie that awful night.”
But it was not a quick process. A first trial, in January 2012, ended without a verdict.
In October 2013 the family were in Sheffield Crown Court for a re-trial.
The court heard Parr and his cousin, Connor Jessop, had approached my boy as he walked home.
Connor vaguely knew Jamie. According to Parr, the two of them had fallen out that day.
His mother continued: “I didn’t really believe that, but it was just the start.
“Parr claimed his cousin originally had the knife and was planning to stab a car tyre.
“He said he’d taken it from Connor and put it in his own pocket. He said he didn’t want to stab my son, but panicked.
“He claimed he didn’t know Jamie was stabbed in the chest and he didn’t call an ambulance because he didn’t realise he was badly hurt. It was all lies.
“Shockingly, he’d made calls from jail, threatening witnesses.
“He said, ‘Once I get out, they won’t be opening their mouths. There’s going to be a war starting.’
“He’d threatened to ‘do in’ the poor young woman whose house he’d gone to after the murder. His pal smashed her windows to terrify her.”
In October 2013 Parr, then 21, of Rotherham, was jailed for 23 years having been convicted of murder and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. This was reduced on appeal to 20 years.
“Now I am continuing with my life,” Mrs Gray said. “I’ll never understand why he was taken from us. My life has been torn APART ."
Bride couldn't tuck into her wedding breakfast 5 years ago - and hasn't eaten ANYTHING since
Bride Nicola Nichols couldn’t eat anything at her wedding breakfast five years ago – and hasn’t eaten a single thing since.
But it wasn't wedding jitters stopping her from tucking in.
The 25-year-old's stomach stopped working after a bout of flu two years earlier, leaving her unable to keep any food or liquid down and she would vomit up to 50 times a day.
Doctors suspected she had an eating disorder but she was actually suffering from gastroparesis, which means her stomach cannot empty itself of food normally, and intestinal failure when she was 18.
She has been fed by a tube into her bowel ever since.
At her wedding, everyone else was enjoying succulent duck, beef and a rich chocolate cake for dessert, not one morsel passed the bride's lips.
Cascade![Beautiful bride: Nicola and Ben Nichols on their wedding day Nicola and Ben Nichols on their wedding day](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_vc76m72nrsQBxd3WVRKo0NJXGwAaU4YSFJQOcO_1ZNTtuQ6pypjpbIT_n0cpubPupK-WK04jQEjva9XzcAWarXz4SngIJEW8mdTspL0VV92qEyLgtFTrUxukBuO0KCR3NDqgboWd2yoed3VZRac-95zMVFycrfFy7bbR0130Xkyx1x-I0On0zJdUW5=s0-d)
While the mum-of-two faces the very real prospect that she might never eat again, she is determined to stay positive for her children.
She managed to give birth to William, aged three, and daughter Felicity, 10 months, despite her stomach problems.
She said: "Everyone takes eating and drinking for granted — even something simple like having a nice hot cup of tea.
"But once you realise that you can't eat you realise just how big a part of your life it is.
"When it started Ben and I had only been together for two months and we couldn't go out for meals together like dating couples usually do.
"I really struggled with everything at first but the support my family has given me has helped me get through it.
"Ben always says 'believe the impossible' and 'never say never'.
"You never know, maybe one day I'll be able to have a transplant of some kind and eat again.
"As a family we just accept it now — mummy doesn't eat, but daddy, William and Felicity do.
"I couldn't even eat my own wedding breakfast, which was really hard.
"I used to be nine stone but now I struggle to keep my weight above seven.
"But we always say that someone else is always worse off. I'm lucky that I have two beautiful children despite my problem. My two miracles."
Nicola's problem started seven years ago after suffering a bout of the flu.
She said: "It literally came out of the blue. Both my mum and I had the flu at the same time but mine was different and I was constantly sick.
"I was eating every day but everything came back up.
"After a week of the flu I felt a bit better but I still couldn't keep any food or water down.
